Oh, and the name. Well, it's likely to be modified, because I'm not even sure that the grammar is correct. You try getting genitive case and plurality correct after numerals in Irish, especially with funky little subclasses of nouns with regard to quantifications, and idiomatic exploitation of all the morphological possibilities.
So yes, this might change.

I would say it is correct. "Seven languages" is "seacht dteanga", but "the seven languages" as a name or as an idiomatic metaphor for many languages is indeed "na seacht dteangacha" (plural, eclipsis). In a similar way, "four courts" is "ceithre chúirt", but "Four Courts" in Dublin is "Na Ceithre Cúirteanna" (plural, no lenition).
ReplyDeleteAnd "teiscinn" is "high sea", of course, although I have seen it only in the expression "ar an teiscinn mhór". It is typically a Connemara word.
